Abandoned and forlorn
On the bedside table
Walk the dog
Clean his paws and
Finish with an appreciative pat
Make that list
And hope to tick all them off
Read that commentary
Till you can
Send that email out
ASAP, PFA, FYI, what have you
Reply to a text
With an emoji that wont hurt
Eat that lunch
Greens are good for you
Watch a movie with a friend
Bask in each other’s miseries
And then remember
To breathe
And to breathe again
Till you remember
That you can get through
That rambling in your head
Only if you breathe.
